Nightmare. This book made me feel stupid. Maybe I'm not as clever as I think I am, but it's not comfortable to have this reinforced. I wanted to finish it, I really did, but it was just so depressing! Still, I found moments of great beauty among the bleak landscape of religious fanaticism, fear and violence.
