Really pleased to find an author's note at the end to explain where the line between history and fiction fell in this book. There was a bunch of what I thought was unnecessary angst in the book which I felt contributed little to the plot, but finding in the author's note how it was inspired made me a little more forgiving. I'm sure as a writer having a source like that it would be hard to resist popping a few of the choicest passages into your work.
Another fab job from the narrator. Sandra Duncan does an excellent job of both male and female character voices, and the regional accents sound authentic to my antipodean ear.
