I've enjoyed every Katie Fforde I've listened to until now. This was irritating rather than bad, but if it was the first of her books I'd ever read, there wouldn't be a second. In fact, I probably wouldn't have finished it. What worries me is that this is a relatively recent book - it's not an early work that's not yet really quite up to the mark. Rather, it's a promising first draft that needs a bloody good going over by a cynical critic. With a Sharpie for crossing out all the dull, repetitive bits. Not recommended.
